Bliss Diary – July 9, 2015

Intention/Affirmation/Mantra:  “How can I serve today, sweet Spirit? How can I serve, oh Lord? Speak in ways that I will understand. Where You lead me, I will follow. Where You lead me, I will go.”

Nutrition:
7:30 longevity tea w/2 TB coconut cream + 1 tsp mct oil + few drops of stevia + collagen
10:30 4 carrot ginger muffins w/ turmeric coconut butter
3:00 handful of coconut chips
4:45 2 cups of nettle + raspberry leaf tea + small spoonful of turmeric coconut butter
5:30 salmon w/ primal mayo wrapped in nori sheets + homemade kale chips + 5 olives

* 60 minute adventure/walk around town w/ E wearing a pair of my old sunglasses with a rubber band to keep them on + a belt around his neck. Hilarious + Awesome!! 🙂
* 5 minute Goddess dance
* 45 minute hike/adventure w/ E

Body Goodness: This week I read Moon Time: Harness the ever-changing energy of your menstrual cycle. As I’ve said in other posts, I am really diggin’ this idea of cyclical living. I realized I bought a few books years ago but never read them. Now, I feeling called to explore and experiment. I always learn what I need when I’m ready to learn it. 🙂

There are 4 phases for a menstruating women every month. The idea is to become aware of what we feel like in our mind, body, emotional life so that we can create our lives around our cycle and ensure we are optimized throughout the month. The week we are menstruating is called the analysis phase, then the initiation phase, then the communication/collaboration phase, then completion phase. (Got these phases from Alisa Vitti)

I am currently in the communication and collaboration phase (day 16). I can totally feel an increase in my energy and a desire for more connection and collaboration with other women. This tends to be a really goooood space for me. I feel pretty light, free and passionate and have an abundance of creativity and joy. #WootWoot

Mind/Heart/Spirit Goodness: I feel a strong inspiration and enthusiasm to optimize. It seems like I’ve always had this inner desire to grow and expand. I also have to be aware of the Superwoman Persona, she likes to creep in the back door and outshine the joy. If I feel the pushing to prove rather than the pulling of something greater than myself I check in with the stories I’m telling and tune back into the frequency of intuition. Today, was all about resting in that blissful place and giving those “not good enough” voices time off. They’ve had their day (years). It’s time to shift! To quote Michale Bernard Beckwith from his song, One Day in Heaven:

Notice and release your acquisitive nature
That part of you that wants to get something to be happy
Instead shift your awareness and ask the question
“How can I bring value to these individuals that are
coming into my life?
And, reminding myself that I bring value by doing the work and having infinite patience in whatever areas I’m playing with. I will always be changing, everything is dynamic. There is no getting there, it’s all right here, change happens now, today. Karen Maezen Miller brings this one home:

You can change in an instant. You can change your mind. You can change your timing. You can change your approach. You can change your words. You can laugh instead of scream. You can hop on one foot. You can step away from the fray instead of stepping in. You can give up, give in, and go in a completely different direction than you’d like to. You can do the dishes later. What then? What next? The Zen master has told you, “You embody the golden breeze.” You are change. You have infinite power to relax, to release, to change, and thus to change everything. If you find that you don’t have the energy or the good humor to do so this time, I will understand. There will be many opportunities afforded you.

Yes, we always have the choice to do something differently. What would our lives feel like if we moved from opportunity to opportunity knowing it is all unfolding with divine perfection? We either show up authentically or not. If not, we get back in the game and give it another go. Who I choose to be today will impact my tomorrows. There is no need to strive for perfection, as we all know that doesn’t exist. Yet, living in integrity with my soul is paramount. Am I living in integrity with my Highest Self? I’m the only one that can know. When the limiting voices are silenced, I believe we all know. Remember, you embody the golden breeze. Let the breeze guide you.

Gratitude & Appreciation: I am grateful for my yummy muffins. I am grateful for the fun hike we did. It was a perfect day. So much love and laughter. I’m continually in awe watching my son grow and learn. I am grateful for Beckwith (love that guy!).  I am grateful for all the women who’ve commented and shared love about this blog. I am grateful for the Oasis peeps, such an amazing community. I am grateful that I’m a mother and a wife. Wow. It’s a totally different stage of my life and I am so blessed to be living the life that I do. #infinitegratitude

Bliss Diary – June 11, 2015

Affirmation/Intention: I have plenty of time and energy to do everything I desire to do. I rest in each moment with presence, love and gratitude.

Nutrition:
7:30 am
at tea (coconut milk, ghee, collagen, cacao, peppermint, stevia)
12:00 pm Salad bars (as my son calls them) – mixed greens, avocado, coconut aminos, lemon all mashed up with my hands and then wrapped in nori sheets
1:30 pm 3 coconut macaroons + lemonade (water, lemons, stevia)
3:45 pm Iced maca coco shake
6:45 pm Salmon w/chard + spinach with some cucumbers and lentil dip

Yummy Toddler Shake:
1/2 banana
1/4 c. coconut milk
1/4 c. water
2 tsp carob
2 tsp flax seeds
1 tsp. maca
1/2 scoop of collagen
pinch of cinnamon + pinch of ground vanilla
Blend + Enjoy!

Movement:
* 25 min — 5 min walk + 20 min run (ok, probably more like jog) pushing E in the stroller with our dog, Zeus, on a leash + a slight drizzle = adventure. 🙂

* 45 min walk/adventure w/E at one of my favorite spots (see pic below)
* 60 minute adventure walking to park and our local music festival

Growth Opportunity:
Home organization. Being organized hasn’t come naturally for me. It’s an area that I’ve had to cultivate over the years. I’m really proud with my progress. I tend towards more of the minimalist lifestyle because I like the spaciousness and simplicity. It’s also easier to clean and organize when you don’t have a lot of stuff. 🙂 I am creating new systems to optimize cleaning our home, and organizing our stuff and keeping it all zen-like.

Part of my practice is to appreciate what does get done! It can be easy to look around the house and see all the things that still need work. I’ve found this especially true with a super curious toddler.. 😉

Mind/Heart Goodness:
On my run this morning I was thinking about my beautiful friend, Jane, as I was saying Hi to everyone we passed. She has a blog called: Random Acquaintances. I read some of her posts yesterday and love the beauty, connection and stories she shares.

It inspired me to think about the sweetness in all of our encounters. In my meditation practice I got tears thinking about how much I desire this connection. I love to live in the deep waters as my friend and beloved mentor, Catherine Ingram, says. I talked with her about this when she visited a few months ago.  She is beauty, presence and truth embodied.

I think this is one of the reasons I love to write/blog…to swim and live in the deep waters and connect with others that want the same. Writing helps me feel and live deeper. I want to do everything I can to be, feel and experience the bliss of being alive. This is one of my greatest joys.

Gratitude + Appreciation: I am grateful that my husband cleaned up the kitchen today. #daymaker I am grateful that I saw some friends at the park/festival today. It’s always nice to connect with awesome mamas. I am grateful for Whole Foods. I am grateful for all the years I’ve experimented in the kitchen. I am grateful for my meditation practice. I am grateful for my parents for bringing me into the world. I am grateful for my commitment to living an authentic life. #grateful #blessed
